    Toru was instrumental in his work in establishing a local food-brand labeling standard In 2005, using the EU’s Geographical Indication system. The “Honba no Honmono” local food-brand labeling standard has had a pivotal role in the preservation and continuation of local traditional foods along with the revitalization of regional areas.

    Currently, 55 products are registered and available in domestic co-ops and overseas (France), and has contributed to developing a new customer model that build consumer demand for local, quality foods.
